I’m the paraprofessional librarian in an intermediate public school. I schedule every 5th and 6th grade class (that) comes to the library every other week. Every other year, my theme is “Our Nation’s Foundations.” I show Liberty’s Kids video clips and teach them constitutional principles, including unalienable rights, limited government, individual liberty, personal responsibility, national security, capitalism, three branches of government, separation of powers and checks and balances. Herein lies our hope for the future of our nation: to teach the next generation what we are at risk of losing.
